• Gifts of the Magi works with special abilities that add cards to an opponent’s hand (e.g., Tola, Reach of Desperation, Hur, etc.). It does not work when A New Beginning is played because at the point that all cards are shuffled the current turn ends. When players draw their new hand, a new turn has begun and Gifts of the Magi is no longer active.
