The normal limit to the number of cards you may keep in your hand at the end of your Discard Phase is eight (8) (see Overview of a Turn in the rulebook [p. 7] or Discard Phase in the rulebook [p. 36]). However, conditions may occur that change the limit (e.g., Tables of the Law, Death & Hades, etc.). There is no limit to the number of cards in your hand during your turn. However, you must reduce your hand to the legal limit during your Discard Phase. If your hand falls below the legal limit, you are not required to discard cards from your hand. Your opponents are not required to reduce their hands during your turn; rather, they must wait until their respective turns.
